Welcome to Drift
One town, shared with everyone who is here right now. What should people call you?
📒 Agenda
This prototype needs WebGL, and your browser didn't provide it. Try a recent Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.
Walk with WASD or the arrow keys, or press and hold on the ground. Walk up to people to talk (T), type anything and press Enter. Walk into things that sparkle to interact.
What to react to in v0.4
Ask people "Can I call you sometime?". Some say yes and end up in your 📒 agenda. Call them from anywhere, ask them to come over. They may call you when they need help.
Watch the ✨ projects: those were invented by the townspeople themselves.
Stand near Stelios at the market and watch: he and Dimitra plan a festival on their own. Get close to read their conversation, press L to listen in properly.
Ask people what they're up to and offer to help. Some will make a poster, a recipe, a map or a song with you. Some will say no.
Find Irini, the architecture student downtown. Tell her what a new library should have, then carry her blueprint and put it up somewhere.
Talk to Mrs. Eleni outside your house, then follow the trail: nobody knows the whole story. Does asking around feel like detective work or like busywork?
Do the people feel like people? Ask them about themselves, their plans, each other. Try being rude, try being kind.
Should people approach you and start talking, or wait for you?
Does the switch between city, suburbs and countryside feel natural, and how often should it happen?
Do the items feel like they belong where you find them? (A skateboard downtown, apples by a farm.)
Find the skateboard or running shoes and notice they show on your character. Is that the kind of visible growth people would pay for?
The evening turns into night after about a minute. Does the flashlight and the lit city change how exploring feels?
A hot-air balloon comes down somewhere after about a minute. Do you go after it?
